The 9/11 disaster in New York City in 2001 had prompted the Simbang Gabi (Midnight Mass) Group of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Nutley, New Jersey to pray together at the Guerrero’s Residence in Clifton, New Jersey on October 20, 2001 for the victims of the tragedy, most especially to pray for world peace.
As a gesture of our concern, we devoted a whole day of praying the 2000 Hail Marys and invoked the powerful intercession of the miraculous Our Lady of Manaoag. The prayer session was attended by the Guerrero family, Fr Manny Soriso, Venadas family, Nano family, C Trombecky and her sister, G Cavalida, B Bautista, M and son, Obrera family and Edquilag couple who served as musicians during the Eucharistic Celebration to culminate the activity.
By His grace, we were amazed to see and experience the supernatural wonders right after the 3:00 PM Divine Mercy Chaplet. This motivated the group to schedule the 2000 Hail Mary’s in their respective homes. Moreso, this inspiration has led to the creation of a website named http://2000hailmarys.org to share the resources that would help anyone who may wish to pray the devotion.
Today, many have been touched by this devotion. Through the internet, we continuously receive petitions not only from United States but also throughout the world, like Canada, Hongkong, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Tobago and Trinidad, Nigeria, Australia, UK, Austria, Singapore, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, India, Malaysia etc. In our very eyes, we continue to hear, feel and see signs and wonders, conversions and healings.
As more devotees are propagating this devotion around the world, we also continue to pray the 2000 Hail Mary’s at St. Mary’s Church in Jersey City, NJ every last Saturday of the month from January to October. In addition, we do it every first Saturday of December in honor of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
We praise and thank the Lord for this gift of prayer. Indeed, praying the Rosary is the weapon in these troubled times, as St. Padre Pio said. The Blessed Mother has also led us to adore our Eucharistic Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament every Monday night at St. Anthony Church in Jersey City, NJ.
Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we adore you profoundly. Thank you Mama Mary, for your ever powerful and unfailing intercession. |
